Lean links

November 23, 2011 by J L Wilson

I tend to get diverted around the holidays so there aren’t many links to report. Or maybe people are starting to feel that holiday spirit and aren’t sniping at each other so much (hmm. I somehow doubt that). Anyway, here’s what caught my eye this month.

* I have “Book Rebound” whenever I read a Martha Grimes book and I become re-acquainted with Melrose Plant. Anybody else feel this way?

* E-books signal the end of profits for writers? You know, I’m not sure any more.

* I have had to explain “male privilege” to men before. Some get it, some don’t. Interesting that it has to be explained, even…

* If you are into vampires (and I confess, I am not), then this vampire timeline is interesting for you.

* Some good tips on marketing here, no matter your product is.

* I think this is true: a hero in a book should be the ‘master of his own fate‘ in a way.

* I wonder if suing a reviewer is a ploy to get more readers? I know I don’t care to read his book now…

* This is a very interesting give-and-take regarding self-pubs vs. legacy pub. I’d like to see this debate in person, actually. (Check the comments for the debate). This one had about a month’s worth of fallout on various blogs.

* A listing of e-book publishers. As always, take any ‘review’ with a grain of salt, but it’s nice to see a list.

* More on ebook trends. As always: interesting .html” target=”_blank”>suing a reviewer is a ploy to get more readers? I know I don’t care to read his book now…
