Triberr, Using the Power of Friends to Promote Your Blog

You’ve set up your blog, you’ve filled it with content, and… no one comes to visit.  You can harass your friends and beg people on loops and Facebook to stop by, but you aren’t getting anyone NEW. You know there are people out there interested in what you have to say. You know there other bloggers posting about things that would appeal to your readers (and vise versa) but following all of those people’s blogs and manually sharing them is a hassle, and heaven knows if they are repaying the favor.

There must be an easier way, and there is. Triberr.

Triberr  is a free service that allows bloggers with some common theme or interest to easily promote each other’s blog posts via Twitter. It’s a collaborative effort to share content and expand each of your blogs’ reach. It is also a great way to get pre-written quality Tweets that your Twitter followers will appreciate.

Triberr, as you may have guessed, is built around the concept of finding your tribe, a group of people with whom you share some common interest. Then with Triberr’s help you and that tribe can share that interest with others.

On Triberr, you can start your own tribe and invite friends to enter, or you can search existing tribes that you think fit with your blog’s content. Once everything is set up, you can choose to have your tribe member’s posts tweeted automatically, or you can manually approve each tweet. Even the second option is simple. There is one go-to page where each tribe’s posts (stream) will be. You can edit what will tweet. (The default is the actual blog post headline.) Or you can tweet as is. You can also delete the post from your stream and never tweet it.

To get going with Triberr you will need to first be invited by a current Triberr member. Then you will need to assign your Twitter and RSS feed to your tribes. Triberr also offers some premium services which you purchase with “bones.” You can earn bones by purchasing them with real world cash, randomly by giving Karma (thumbs up or thumbs down) in different places around triberr.com or by using another aspect of Triberr, dynamic tribes.

With these bones you can then create a new tribe, join existing tribes, invite people to your tribes, create dynamic tribes, auto-approve posts, and move (bump) a bonfire (think forum post) to the top of a category.
